The Moscow Mayor’s Cup in floorball will take place in the capital at the end of August. The tournament will be held for the 19th time, with teams playing from August 27 to 30 at the MegaSport Sports Palace named after A.V. Tarasov (Khodynsky Boulevard, building 3).
For the first time in the history of the cup, eight teams will participate in the competition: Moscow’s “Spartak”, CSKA and “Dynamo”, Nizhny Novgorod’s “Torpedo”, Minsk’s “Dynamo”, Kazan’s “Ak Bars”, Yekaterinburg’s “Avtomobilist” and the Chinese club “Shanxi Dragons”.
The teams will be divided into two groups. Group A will include CSKA, Spartak, Dinamo-Minsk, and Ak Bars, while Group B will have Moscow’s Dinamo, Torpedo, Shanghai Dragons, and Avtomobilist. The deciding matches for fifth and third places, as well as the final, will take place on August 30.
Entry to the event will be by tickets.
The Moscow Mayor’s Cup in hockey is the largest and the only pre-season tournament for Kontinental Hockey League teams held in the capital. Its organizers areMoscow City Department of Sportsand the Federation of the Moscow Region.
The event corresponds to the goals of the state programs of the Russian Federation “Development of physical culture and sports” and“Sport of Russia”. One of the goals is to increase the percentage of citizens systematically engaged in physical culture and sports to 70 percent by 2030.
Moscow makes a decisive contribution to the implementation of this task, paying special attention to the accessibility of sports infrastructure, support for families with children, as well as the integration of the sports community of participants and veterans of the special military operation and their families.
