In this academic year, 49 new educational facilities were opened in Moscow — 22 schools, 21 kindergartens, and six educational complexes with preschool departments. The buildings are designed for more than 25 thousand children — 6.5 thousand preschoolers and over 18.5 thousand schoolchildren. From the IT range to the planetarium
New facilities were designed taking into account the modern requirements for the educational environment. Spaces become more open, functional, and technological. The buildings have universal and specialized classrooms with modern equipment, sports halls, multifunctional areas, media libraries, laboratory and research complexes, as well as zones for project work and student relaxation.
So, in the Kommunarka area in September 2025, at the address: Lobanovsky Les Street, house 2, a new building of school No. 109 was opened — an educational complex for 1625 places. Here, in addition to universal and specialized classrooms, an IT training ground, a media library, a dining hall, a choreography hall, and sports halls were equipped. The preschool department has 14 group cells, music and physical education halls.
An important feature of the complex was two swimming pools. One of them is intended for high school and middle school students, the other — for teaching younger schoolchildren to swim.
The building is equipped with large multifunctional spaces that can be used as public areas, lecture halls, concert or theater halls. In the two-story dining hall, areas for senior and elementary classes are provided — a unique solution for school buildings in Russia.
In addition, the new building is equipped with sound and video recording studios, a culinary room, a fab lab — a production laboratory for individual developments, an art workshop for classes in visual arts and pottery, as well as a planetarium.
On the school grounds, they have placed areas for gymnastics, active games, mini-football, holding ceremonial events, running tracks, and children’s play zones, as well as exercise equipment for outdoor activities.
Universal atrium
In September 2025, a school for 825 students was opened in Pokrovsko-Streshnevo. The project became the winner of the 2023 Moscow Award for the best architectural and urban planning solution. The new building on Volokolamskoye Highway (house 75v) became part of School No. 58.
The building visually consists of two blocks: elementary classes are located in one, and middle and high school classes in the other. The facades with panoramic windows were made in yellow, white, and gray colors to emphasize the features of the volumetric composition and highlight the large elements assembled like a constructor.
The building has both general-purpose and specialized classrooms, as well as laboratory and research complexes. The central element is an atrium—a multifunctional, multicolored space with high ceilings. It can be used as a lecture hall, an assembly hall, a venue for events, or a recreation area. Special acoustic panels absorb noise, so it does not interfere with classes.
Laboratory research complexes and spacious recreational areas
In the Khoroshyovo-Mnyovniki district on Shelepikhinskaya Embankment (building 36a), a new building of school No. 1253 with 775 seats was opened in September 2025. Its facade consists of glass panels so that the interior space is filled with natural light.
In the new building, universal and specialized classrooms, laboratory and research complexes, as well as spacious recreational areas for relaxation and independent study of students have been equipped. For holding events, a multifunctional space was arranged in the central part of the school. For physical education lessons, the building was equipped with two gyms, and on the adjacent territory — a stadium with a football field, a running track, and a universal court for playing basketball and volleyball.

Modern schools and kindergartens
The new building of School No. 1360 at 2nd Grazhdanskaya Street (building 2) in the Bogorodskoe district opened in April 2026. For 400 students and teachers, universal and specialized classrooms were equipped, modern laboratory and research complexes, an IT training ground, a media library, a multifunctional multicolored space, as well as a convertible sports hall with changing rooms and showers.
In Troitsk, on Mostovaya Street (house 6), on Knowledge Day in 2025, a kindergarten of School No. 1392 named after D.V. Ryabinkin opened with a capacity of 350 places. There are music and gym halls, 14 spacious group rooms with sleeping and play areas, changing rooms and buffets, as well as a medical unit and a room for developmental activities with children. A special feature of the building is the central play area.
In addition, during this school year, 51 buildings were renovated under the “My School” program. The facades were reconstructed, engineering communications were replaced, modern equipment and furniture were installed, and the adjacent territories were improved. Specialists thought through every detail to ensure that children would be comfortable—from clear navigation to find the required classroom to furniture in the recreation areas.
