Debt securities transactions on the secondary market on the Moscow Exchange in May 2026 were conducted by 755.2 thousand private investors (+57.7% compared to May 2025). Their share in the volume of bond trading amounted to 12.2%.

Private investors in May invested 146.7 billion rubles in bonds on the Moscow Exchange stock market. Of this, 31.7% were investments in ruble-denominated OFZs, 51.6% in corporate bonds in rubles, and 16.7% in bonds in foreign currency.

The volume of primary bond placements in May amounted to 1.5 trillion rubles, of which placements of one-day bonds accounted for 209.2 billion rubles. The share of OFZ in the volume of primary placements is 26% (34.3% in May 2025).

The volume of secondary trading in corporate, regional, and government bonds reached 1.4 trillion rubles in May. This includes the volume of secondary trading in OFZs – over 576.8 trillion rubles (+36.1% compared to May 2025), corporate bonds – 749.3 billion rubles (a 2.5-fold increase compared to May 2025).

In the OTC segment with a central counterparty in May 2026, the trading volume amounted to 176.5 billion rubles (+18% compared to May 2025).

The debt market of the Moscow Exchange is a center for attracting funds for Russian companies, combining a developed infrastructure, reliability, and advanced bond trading technologies. Bonds are traded on the Moscow Exchange, with the volume in circulation accounting for almost a third of GDP. The product line includes over four thousand instruments issued by 500 issuers, including OFZ (Federal Loan Bonds), corporate bonds, as well as complex debt instruments. More than 1.7 million private investors trade bonds on the Moscow Exchange.In 2025, the volume of bond trading reached a record 42 trillion rubles, and the average daily transaction volume since the beginning of 2026 exceeded 150 billion rubles.
