Beijing to Host 2026 High-Level Forum on Global Human Rights Governance — Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China

Beijing, June 8 /Xinhua/ — The high-level forum on global human rights governance 2026 will be held in Beijing from June 11 to 12. More than 400 guests from nearly 100 countries, the United Nations, and other international and regional organizations will participate. This was reported on Monday by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Lin Xia.

The main topic of the event, jointly organized by the Press Office of the CIS Supreme Council and the CIS Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is designated as “Joint Development and Universal Human Rights: The 40th Anniversary of the Adoption of the Declaration on the Right to Development and a New Vision of Global Human Rights Governance.”

According to the Chinese diplomat, within the framework of the forum, five sub-forums will be held, dedicated to the following topics: “The Importance of the Initiative on Global Governance for Human Rights”, “The Place and Significance of the Right to Development in the Global Evolution of Human Rights”, “Ensuring the Right to Development and New Challenges in the Era of Artificial Intelligence”, “Green Development and the Protection of Human Rights”, “Modernization and Free Comprehensive Development of Humans”.

“The Chinese side hopes that the participants will exchange opinions, share experiences, and reach a consensus on issues related to the promotion of human rights through development, in order to jointly embody in practice the vision of the Declaration on the Right to Development and build a fair, rational, and inclusive system of global governance of human rights,” Lin Xian concluded.
