Almaty, June 8 /Xin Hua/ — The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, the joint-stock company “National Geological Service” and the company “Shell Kazakhstan” on Monday signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of study and analysis of hydrocarbon data. This was reported by the press service of the country’s Ministry of Energy.
The main focus of the partnership is on exchanging advanced global experience and digitizing archival geological information on hydrocarbons. The document creates a sustainable platform for joint training of specialists and conducting fundamental analysis of mineral resources, the department’s statement says.
The practical core of the memorandum will be the launch of a pilot project for the development of a modern geoinformation system, which will allow for deep processing and interpretation of accumulated historical geological data.
It is expected that digitalization will significantly expand the understanding of the country’s resource potential and strengthen the investment attractiveness of the industry, added the press service.
