Vladivostok, June 8 /Xinhua/ — Chinese concepts of development and international cooperation have a significant influence on the formation of new approaches to global governance. This opinion was expressed in an interview with Xinhua by Andrey Deryabin, senior lecturer of the Department of the Pacific Ocean of East Asian Institute of Far Eastern Federal University /FEFU/.
“The concept of the ‘Chinese Dream’ is attractive primarily because it unites the interests of the state and the individual. It simultaneously talks about improving citizens’ quality of life and China’s attainment of the status of a developed power by the centenary of the founding of the PRC in 2049,” the expert noted.
In my opinion, A. Deryabin, the combination of long-term national goals with tasks to improve the welfare of the population makes this model attractive not only for China, but also for other countries of the world.
No less important for global development, he considers the concept of a community of a common destiny of humanity. According to him, “the concept is relevant and interesting to all countries beyond the collective West as a concept of updating the world order according to a just scenario, in contrast to neo-colonial models imposed on the whole world in recent decades by the United States and its allies.”
Speaking about the practical implementation of the Chinese development strategy, A. Deryabin especially highlighted Beijing’s course towards achieving technological sovereignty.
In his opinion, the “Made in China 2025” program and subsequent initiatives aimed at strengthening the country’s leadership in areas such as artificial intelligence, microelectronics, biotechnology, and aerospace industry are of significant interest.
Evaluating the foreign policy course of the CPC, the expert emphasized that the diplomacy of the great power of China with Chinese characteristics has become one of the most notable international strategies of the last decades.
