On Saturday, June 6, the “Lepota Den” festival was held for the third time in the Political Park. Students and university staff came to the celebration with their families, friends, and pets.
The program was very rich and diverse. Festival guests were able to participate in a variety of interesting activities. For example, “Himtim” traditionally held its legendary chemical show. The guys made colorful reactions, explosions in test tubes, and broke flowers. They proved that chemistry is not boring formulas, but a powerful and beautiful source of inspiration. This area gathers a record number of viewers of all ages every year.
Thank you very much for such an event! I came here for the first time, I was invited here by friends who studied at Polite. I am here with my six-year-old son. He really liked the knights, the knight’s tournament, he fought with a sword. We also visited the fire zone and were delighted. The chemical show was also very interesting, they tell and show, the children listen fascinated, “Tatiana Stepanova shared her impressions.
Special interest among all participants was caused by the “Path to Safety” zone. There, it was possible to gain real knowledge about what to do in case of a fire, how to behave in a smoke-filled room, how to properly use a fire extinguisher, and learn what equipment rescuers use. The newly acquired knowledge could immediately be applied in practice.
We came here with the family: with our daughter, husband, dog. This is our first time here. We really liked all the activities. The guys from Chimic came up with really cool experiments. I won’t be able to pull my daughter away from there anymore. I really liked that they did career guidance; I myself decided to take this test. I imagined who I would want to be if I weren’t a physicist and a chemist. I would decide to be some kind of biospecialist — a biochemist or a biophysicist. This “bio” part really attracts me. There was a very interesting activity with firefighting, that is useful.Thank you very much to the organizers for the wonderful opportunity to come here together with my family and spend time together interestingly,” said Natalya Leontyeva, Head of the Scientific Projects and Programs Support Department.
In the “Who to Become?” zone, there was an interactive board called “Threads of Fate.” Colored threads of interests, abilities, and character traits led participants to a profession, a field of study that ideally suited them and connected all the threads into a single whole. As Natalia Leontyeva told us, not only children but also adults took part in this game.
Next to it was located “Poly-biziboard.” This is a large university model where each moving element is a key to a specific field: precise calculations, assembly, creativity, or research. There, the hands themselves “hinted” at what the soul lies beneath.
The male half of the guests really liked “Robot Wars.”
“We came here for the first time with the family. We liked the robot battles and, of course, the cars. The knights were also very memorable.”A — noted the research associate of the Laboratory of Shielded and Modular Structures Irina Kotlyarskaya.
Czicians conquered all festival participants in general. With them, one could feel like a resident of another time, immerse oneself in this atmosphere. One could participate in sword fighting, learn to shoot from a bow, play Scandinavian board games, take photographs in armor and discover all the secrets about it, as well as attend several master classes: foil embossing, stained glass, calligraphy.
The “Woof-woof” zone, where people came with their fluffy pets, deserves special attention. There, dogs learned new commands, passed through unique obstacle courses, and received tasty prizes.
We came to “Beautiful Day” with the clear purpose of “Bow-wow.” We really liked everything. Sam, my Samoyed, was scared by the knights, but otherwise he was happy with everything. He had his own star hour at the contest — he confirmed his status as the most obedient Samoyed,” shared Sam’s owner, Artyom Zimin, head of the information security systems administration department.
There were also those who attend “Lepota Day” every year. Among them is Anastasia Sychyova, a designer in the visual communications department: This is my third time at this event. I especially liked the knights here. They are very colorful. I also went through a quest from the museum, tried my hand at surfing, and received a large dose of affection at “Gav-Gave.”
Since 2024, the event has been organized annually by various departments of Politeh and student communities. According to the organizers, the “Lepota Day” celebration is designed to unite all Politeh members, as well as families and friends. It is precisely such informal events that allow one to feel not only an employee or a student of the university, but also a part of a large, friendly Politeh family.
