Tashkent, June 6 /Xin Hua/ — The head of the administration of the Special Administrative Region /SAR/ Xiang Li Ziyao held talks during his visit to Uzbekistan with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, and Foreign Minister Bakhodir Saidov.
From June 3 to 5, a trade and economic delegation headed by Li Qizhao visited Uzbekistan. The parties prepared and signed 35 memorandums and agreements covering areas such as trade, economy, investment, finance, scientific and technological, and aviation sectors.
As reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, Sh. Mirziyoyev during the negotiation session paid special attention to the importance of involving the existing potential for economic partnership of Uzbekistan’s regions with Xiangang. Confidence was expressed that the current visit of the representative delegation of Xiangang business circles to the city of Tashkent will significantly contribute to this.
Li Ziyang, for his part, indicated that within the framework of the political course “one country, two systems,” Xianggang possesses advantages both at the national and international levels. According to him, SAR will continue to play the role of a “super connector” and a “creator of added value” for further deepening cooperation and exchanges with Uzbekistan, as well as facilitating the country’s achievement of goals for qualitative development and the joint utilization of opportunities within the initiative “Belt and Road.”
As Li Ziyang pointed out, Xiang’an and Uzbekistan are important trade and investment gateways in the Asia-Pacific region and Central Asia respectively. He emphasized that the parties can leverage their complementary advantages for further strengthening trade and economic cooperation and opening up broader markets for enterprises.
Given that Uzbekistan has rich gold reserves, and Syan’gan is actively creating an international gold trading market, the parties intend to open new mutually beneficial opportunities in the field of trading precious metals and providing professional services.
In addition, the parties initialed agreements on civil air transport, which will allow airlines from both sides to use air transport rights for the deployment and launch of regular air routes.
In order to facilitate citizen travel and simplify humanitarian exchanges, the parties also agreed to extend the mutual visa-free regime period to 30 days.
In the cultural and humanitarian sphere, the Xiangyang Museum of Palace Culture of Guguan and the State Museum of the History of Uzbekistan have established a partnership, within the framework of which joint organization of exhibitions is planned in the future.
