On June 4, 2026, within the framework of the XXIX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026), the Moscow Exchange and JSC “Goznak” signed an agreement on strategic cooperation aimed at the joint development of the Russian precious metals exchange market.
The official signing ceremony was attended by the CEO of JSC “Goznak” Arkady Trachuk and a representative of the “Moscow Exchange” Group Igor Marich.
The signed agreement is intended to increase the scale of cooperation between the Moscow Exchange and Goznak. The parties intend to expand infrastructural interaction aimed at developing exchange trading in precious metals, enhancing the investment attractiveness of precious metals for individuals and legal entities, and, as a result, increasing market liquidity.
Cooperation also involves expanding the interaction of infrastructure organizations in terms of improving the services for receiving and issuing slips for professional market participants and, prospectively, for individuals.
Igor Marich, representative of the “Moscow Exchange” Group:
“The development of the precious metals exchange market is one of the strategic directions of our work. Today, the market participants include the largest Russian producers and consumers of precious metals, professional market participants, and tens of thousands of private investors. The combination of demand and supply on the exchange trading allows us to form transparent price indicators, which already serve as a benchmark for all market participants and act as a basic asset for derivative instruments.”Joint work with Goznak, one of the key partners in this field, will allow increasing market liquidity, making it more accessible for all categories of clients, and opening new opportunities for growing the volumes of exchange trading in precious metals.
Arkady Trachuk, General Director of JSC “Goznak”:
“Goznak has been providing the Moscow Exchange with custodian services for precious metals for two years now. And all this time, as the market and investment in gold grew, our cooperation has been constantly developing: the volumes of precious metals under custody increased, the range of custodian services provided by Goznak expanded. The agreement we signed today underscores our shared interest in the further development of exchange trading in precious metals and in increasing the investment attractiveness for investors.”I believe that strategic cooperation between the largest domestic exchange and one of the largest custodians in Russia will contribute to this in the best possible way.
Moscow Exchange is the largest Russian exchange, the only multifunctional platform in Russia for trading stocks, bonds, derivatives, currency, money market instruments, and commodities. The Moscow Exchange group includes the central depository, as well as the clearing center, which performs the functions of the central counterparty on the market, allowing the Moscow Exchange to provide clients with a full cycle of trading and post-trading services.
JSC “Goznak” has been providing precious metals custody services since 2024 and is currently one of the largest responsible custodians in the Russian market. The company ensures custody and support of operations with gold, silver, and platinum group metals in the interest of professional market participants. Owning its own mints, Goznak has over 300 years of expertise and experience working with precious metals, as well as a developed and secure infrastructure for custody.
