Beijing, April 4 /Xinhua/ — In the first quarter of 2026, the volume of trade within the framework of cross-border electronic commerce (TBE) in the city of Manzhouli, an autonomous region of Inner Mongolia /Northern China/, located on the border of China and Russia, exceeded 1.3 billion yuan (about 189 million USD), which turned out to be more than the analogous indicator for the entire year of 2025, according to data from the city commerce administration. This was reported on Saturday by the newspaper “Naiman Zhibao.”

It is reported that currently the development of trade within the framework of the Cross-Border E-commerce (CBEC) in Manzhouli covers all four main business models of cross-border electronic commerce. An industrial park for CBEC with an area of 28 thousand sq. m. has been created in the city. In addition, Manzhouli has also built 9 overseas warehouses with a total area of more than 300 thousand sq. m. to accelerate the development of CBEC.

Since the beginning of the current year, the Commerce Department of the city of Manzhouli, together with customs and other city departments, has concentrated efforts on ensuring the high-quality and effective development of the TPK, promoting the sector to embark on a path of accelerated growth. Taking into account the needs of enterprises, the city hall constantly optimizes the business environment, actively helps them overcome difficulties, and comprehensively improves the service level to attract investments from a larger number of enterprises.

At the same time, in Manzhouli, serious attention is paid to the construction and commissioning of facilities for the control of thermal power plants (TPPs) and the continuous improvement of software and hardware to develop this industry, in order to comprehensively enhance the potential and overall competitiveness of the industry related to cross-border e-commerce.
