First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov gave the start to the new production of representative-class cars – the Senat 900 model at the PMEF-2026 field. The event was attended by the Governor of Saint Petersburg Alexander Beglov, CEO of PJSC “KAMAZ”, Chairman of the Association Council “Association of Russian Automakers” Sergey Kogogin, and Chairman of the Management Board of PJSC “Gazprom” Alexey Miller.

“Today we are present at the birth of a new Russian brand Senat. In just a few minutes, the first representative-class cars under this brand will roll off the conveyor belt of the plant in the settlement of Shushary. Thus, our automotive industry will enter this complex segment with high added value. The Senat project allowed us to train several hundred highly qualified specialists and establish a flow of new personnel to the plant,” noted Denis Manturov.

New production will allow for a profitable offer for updating and servicing corporate fleets. The First Deputy Prime Minister noted that the launch of the factory completed the cycle of recreating automobile production in Russia across all demanded segments and classes.

“In terms of passenger cars, we have more than 20 brands and over 50 different models represented. This is largely the result of the rapid relaunch of sites abandoned by our former partners in 2022,” added Denis Manturov.
