By June 2026, under the renovation program, almost 360 thousand square meters of residential area have been built, which exceeds the indicators for the same period of the previous year by 20 percent. This was reported at the site of the XXIX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning Policy and Construction.Vladimir Efimov.
The renovation program aimed at updating the capital’s housing stock and creating a comfortable urban environment annually improves its own indicators in terms of construction pace and volume. Based on the results of work in 2025, the Renovation Fund became the leader in housing commissioning. This year, it continues to set records. If in January – May 2025, 300 thousand square meters of residential area were built, then for the same period in 2026 this number increased by 20 percent — up to 359.1 thousand square meters.”In addition, thanks to the increased coefficient of usable area for houses under the renovation program up to 0.75, it will be possible to save about 40 billion rubles in 2026,” Vladimir Efimov stated.
Since the beginning of the implementation of the renovation program in Moscow, more than eight million square meters of residential real estate have been built. More than 260 thousand city residents have moved or started moving into new apartments.
“In the five months of 2026, more than three thousand apartments were built and put into operation in the capital. Most of the houses were built in the South-Eastern Administrative Okrug — nine new buildings, in the North-Eastern Administrative Okrug — four, and in the South Administrative Okrug and Eastern Administrative Okrug — three houses each. In the Troitsky Administrative Okrug, Western Administrative Okrug, and South-Western Administrative Okrugs, one house was put into operation each. It is possible to speed up the construction pace partly due to the use of prefab technology. Elements of the new houses are assembled robotically at the factory and delivered to the construction site fully assembled.””Each assembled element undergoes strict control at all stages of production, ensuring that new buildings fully comply with high quality standards,” added the Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the Department of Urban Planning Policy.
Houses under the renovation program are being built from domestic materials. Moreover, they are supplied from more than 15 regions of Russia. Independence from imported suppliers increases the speed of building construction.
Each residential complex is built according to an individual design. The new houses are distinguished by high quality and bright modern architecture. The apartments are finished with a final coat, plumbing, lighting fixtures, and necessary household equipment are installed. Landscaping and comprehensive improvement are carried out on the adjoining territory. Children’s and sports grounds are installed here, places for relaxation are arranged, and safe pedestrian zones are created.
Earlier, Sergey Sobyanin talked about how modern technologies allow faster construction of housing according toреновации.
The renovation program was approved in August 2017. It concerns about a million Muscovites and provides for the resettlement of 5,176 buildings. Earlier, Sergey Sobyanin instructed to increase the pace of implementationrenovation programsTwice.
