Baku, April 4 /Xin Hua/ — Azerbaijan on Saturday sent another batch of humanitarian aid weighing 200 tons to Iran, continuing a series of deliveries previously started.

As reported by local media, the cargo delivered by ten trucks includes 190 tons of food, 7 tons of medicines, and 3 tons of medical equipment. This is the third batch of aid sent by Azerbaijan to Iran recently.

The delivery is carried out in accordance with the agreements reached during the telephone conversation between President Ilham Aliyev and President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian on March 8, 2026. It is noted that the aid is aimed at supporting the current needs of the population of the neighboring country.

Iran’s ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mujtaba Demirchilu, called Azerbaijan the first country to provide humanitarian aid to Iran in the current period. According to him, it is not only about material support: the deliveries bear “solidarity and moral support” from the Azerbaijani people and government.

Humanitarian supplies from Azerbaijan continue amid the military escalation around Iran. –0–
