Saint Petersburg, June 3 /Sinchua/ — The 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), the key economic event in Russia, began work on Wednesday at the Expoforum Congress and Exhibition Centre in Saint Petersburg.

According to the message on the official SPIEF website, the main theme this year is “Pragmatic Dialogue—the Path to a Stable Future.” The forum program is dedicated to forming a new model of global development in the context of the transformation of the global economy. The organizer of SPIEF was the Roscongress Foundation, and the guest country of the forum was Saudi Arabia.

According to the aide to the President of the Russian Federation Yuri Ushakov, participants of the SPIEF this year will number about 20 thousand people, including government officials and politicians, vice-presidents, deputy prime ministers, ministers of the economic bloc from more than 100 countries.
