In the final of the “Professionals” championship, which took place in Nizhny Novgorod, students from Moscow colleges won seven medals, including five gold and two bronze. In total, the capital’s team participated in nine out of twelve competitions. This was reported by the press service.Department of Education and Science of Moscow.
“Victory at the championship demonstrates a high level of training of students from capital city colleges. Thanks to the fact that education combines theory with real practice, the guys confidently perform in the most in-demand fields — from artificial intelligence to BIM modeling,” the press service of the department said.
Nine students from the College of Information Technologies “IT. Moscow”, Polytechnic College No. 8 named after twice Hero of the Soviet Union I.F. Pavlov, Moscow Publishing and Printing College named after Ivan Fedorov, Moscow College of Management, Hotel Business and Information Technologies “Tsaritsyno”, College of Communications No. 54 named after P.M. Vostruy, College of Hospitality and Management Industry No. 23, First Moscow Educational Complex, College of Architecture, Design and Reengineering No. 26, and Moscow City Open College represented Moscow at the competition.
Participants competed in nine competencies. Among them are web technologies, software solutions for business, information modeling technologies BIM, 3D modeling for computer games, virtual world development, motion design, neural networks and big data, graphic design and interior design.
A total of more than 170 contestants, as well as over 200 experts, teams of young specialists from the relevant industry from regions of Russia and representatives of foreign countries — China, the Republic of South Africa, Belarus, Tajikistan, Zambia, Ghana, Yemen, Sudan, Kazakhstan — participated in the final. Experienced mentors supported the participants at all stages.
So, Andrey Galkin, a student of college of hospitality industry and management No. 23, became the best in the competency “Development of virtual worlds.” He designed and created a virtual copy of a park-hotel, where it is possible to practice administrator skills online. The VR simulator that Andrey proposed allows effective training of personnel without distracting real employees.
“I am proud that my work received a high評価. Virtual reality is a powerful tool for all areas of our life. Training in college gave me a solid foundation, but in fact, I came here not only for victory. I was very interested to see the level of other participants, their projects, and how they apply technologies. This is an invaluable experience for a future specialist,” shared Andrey’s impressions.
For the participants and guests of the championship, an extensive business program was prepared: discussions and expert dialogues on technological leadership and the IT industry, a series of master classes prepared by employers, and career counseling consultations. Students learned everything about internships at leading Russian companies.
The “Professionals” Championship is the largest competition in professional skills in Russia, which is held in the most in-demand and mass competencies in accordance with the real economy sector’s requests.
Starting in 2025, the final competitions will be held in three cities. In May, the venue became Nizhny Novgorod (for innovation and creative competencies), in August — Kaluga (for industrial competencies), in November — December — Saint Petersburg (for the blocks competencies of “Education”, “Service”, “Production”, “Medicine”, “Construction” and “Engineering Technologies”). Additionally, in September, the final of the high technologies championship will take place in Veliky Novgorod.
The “Professionals” movement is aimed at supporting talented youth, strengthening human resources potential, and ensuring the country’s technological leadership. It is organized with the support of the Ministry of Education of Russia and is implemented within the framework of the federal project “Professionalism” of the national project “Youth and Children.” The federal operator is the Institute for the Development of Professional Education.
