In the library of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art on Yermolaevsky Lane, as part of the “Looking at the Book” project, there will be an evening dedicated to the author’s limited edition books by the artist-graphic designer Ekaterina Smirnova.
Participants will learn about the history and technology of lithographic printing, about the tradition of the Moscow school of lithography, and the genre livre d’artiste (artist’s book).
Author, member of the Moscow Union of Artists, head of the lithography workshop of the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov, founder of the lithography workshop “Lito”, Ekaterina Smirnova will tell in detail about the creation of each publication, its structure, plastic language and features, and will also show the originals of the books.
