“Special attention is given to maintaining the condition of the capital’s roads within regulatory standards. Every year, as part of preparations for the autumn-winter period, activities are carried out to renew the asphalt concrete pavement. This year, we will carry out work on the Kremlin Ring, where we will repair six sections: Moskvoretskaya Embankment, Moskvskaya Street, Borovitskaya, Novaya, Staraya, and Lubyanskaya Squares,” noted Petr Biryukov.

The last road repair works here were carried out in 2022, with a warranty period for the pavement of three years.

One of the main reasons for repairs is rutting caused by intensive traffic. It not only causes discomfort for drivers but can also negatively affect safety.

Specialists regularly check the condition of the road surface on the highway, monitor the expiration of the warranty period, and promptly carry out the necessary work. Repairs are mainly performed at night — during the period of least road traffic. First, milling of the existing surface is carried out, then inspection wells and stormwater grates are repaired, after which new asphalt is laid, and at the final stage road markings are applied.

Modern technologies are used in asphalt paving. Asphalt concrete mixtures produced at city plants are used for the work.
