Championship participants
On May 28, the results of the engineering championship, held jointly with the company “Region”, were summed up at the Department of Water Use and Ecology (VIE) of SPBGASU.
During the academic semester, students developed projects for water intake facilities according to the “Region” assignment. The goal of the project was to develop a technological scheme for the functioning of the water intake in the complex hydrological and ice conditions of the Zeya River (Amur Region). Together with mentors and company engineers, the students approached the task creatively and presented their individual projects for defense. Among the proposed solutions were options with island, channel, scoop, and radial infiltration water intakes.
The teams confidently handled the engineering calculations, developed drawings of the structures, and presented an informational model, as well as the results of mathematical modeling for the optimal selection of the river section for the location of the water intake.
Chairman of the jury, General Director of LLC “Region”Aleksey Shchukinnoted unconventional, bold engineering solutions, a high level of presentation materials, and a high level of training of future specialists.
The best was recognized as a project with an island-type water intake. It was developed by students of group 2-Cb(BB)-3.Irina Afanasenko, Egor Viktorin, Ekaterina PrudnikovaиPolina Severova.
The winners of the championship received recommendation letters and an invitation for an internship at the company “Region”.
