Oslo, June 2 /Sina/ — Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced on Monday that she managed to form a new four-party government after a 69-day process of coalition formation, the longest in the country’s history.
Speaking after the meeting with King Frederik X, M. Frederiksen said that the new cabinet will include the Social Democrats, the Socialist People’s Party, the Social Liberal Party, and the “Moderates.”
According to her, the government’s political program will be presented on Tuesday.
M. Frederiksen characterized the negotiations as “long and difficult,” stating that although “many things were difficult,” the process in the end “should have been crowned with success.”
Parliamentary elections were held in Denmark on March 24. Although the Social Democrats led by M. Frederiksen remained the largest party, they suffered significant losses, as a result of which neither the left nor the right block was able to secure a parliamentary majority.
