Kuwait, June 2 /Xinhuanet/ — Kuwait International Airport resumed operations on Monday, receiving and operating flights of Arab and international airlines as part of the phased reopening plan after the completion of repair and modernization work.

As reported by the Kuwaiti Information Agency, passenger service has been resumed in Terminal 1, operational measures have been introduced to facilitate the flow of air traffic, simplify the travel procedure, and support the airport’s readiness for a gradual increase in flights.

The agency quoted the acting Director General of Civil Aviation, Dwight al-Otaibi, who stated that at the initial stage of work, one flight from each airline is planned as part of a plan aimed at ensuring the smooth operation and assessing the airport’s efficiency before expanding services at the subsequent stage.

The airport was closed from the end of February when the USA and Israel began attacks on Iran, causing a regional conflict. It was reopened again in April in accordance with the phased plan. –0–
