A train loaded with 38 containers of electronic components, auto parts, monitors, and other goods departed from the West Suzhou station. The train will pass through the Pingxiang checkpoint in the Guangxi-Zhuang Autonomous Region and eventually arrive in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. This marks the successful launch of the first accelerated rail container train from Jiangsu province to Vietnam, operating under a new model of “accelerated rail transit.”

In November 2025, the region’s first combined rail-road transportation project along the southern corridor (China-Vietnam) was launched at the Yangzi Delta. The project uses a new logistics model of a “single bill of lading” to solve industry problems such as long logistics chains and a large number of transshipment operations, opening a new transport corridor from Suzhou to Vietnam. The current train, operating on an accelerated model, follows the principle of “one container to the end” without transshipment and opening of containers en route, which excludes the necessity of intermediate transshipment and repeated customs clearance, significantly reducing travel time. This creates a high-quality logistics corridor for Yantzi enterprises in the southern direction, leading to Vietnam and connecting with ASEAN.

Suchzhou is an important industrial base and a center of export-oriented economy in the Yangtze Delta region, and its trade and economic ties with ASEAN are becoming increasingly close. Data show that in the first four months of this year, the volume of Suchzhou’s trade with ASEAN countries reached 230.7 billion yuan, an increase of 42.7%, with trade with Vietnam and Thailand growing by 50.6% and 97.5%, respectively.
