The volume of life insurance premiums (NSZ) in January – March 2026 increased by more than 1.5 times compared to the same period last year, reaching 364.4 billion rubles.

Mainly, citizens took out policies with a term of up to 1 year. The share of NSZ contracts, under which the client is guaranteed to receive a payout at a level comparable to bank deposits, amounted to 80%. Slightly less than half of the contracts with a one-time payment were concluded for an amount exceeding 10 million rubles. Under NSZ, insurers paid clients 250.3 billion rubles.

At the beginning of the year, the sales of investment life insurance policies (ILS) ceased, which seemed to affect the contributions accordingly: they almost halved. For premiums on previously concluded ILS contracts, providing for the possibility of replenishment, 105.9 billion rubles had to be paid.

Premiums for life insurance by equity participation (DSP), which appeared on the market last year, amounted to 16.5 billion rubles. As a result, the segment of non-credit life insurance (NSI, ISI, and DSP) increased compared to the same period last year, but decreased by almost a third relative to the fourth quarter of 2025.

Overall, the market grew by 11.4% in January-March. Read more about the market situation in“Overview of key performance indicators of vegetable growers”.
