Sichuan, May 31 /Xinhua/ — On Sunday, China successfully launched a new experimental satellite aimed at developing satellite internet technology.
The launch was carried out from the Sichan cosmodrome /Sichuan province, Southwest China/ at 2:07 a.m. /Beijing time/ using the Long March-2D carrier rocket. The satellite successfully reached the designated orbit.
It will be mainly used for conducting testing and verification of technologies, including direct broadband connection of mobile phones to the satellite and integration of terrestrial and space networks.
This is the 646th flight of the launch vehicle from the “Changzheng” series. -0-
