Beijing, May 30 /Xinhua/ — Chairman of the NPC Si Jinping and President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on Saturday exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Si Jinping noted that Egypt became the first Arab and African country to establish diplomatic relations with the PRC.
According to him, over the past 70 years, regardless of how the international and regional situation has changed, the two countries have always respected each other, treated each other as equals, guided by the principles of mutual trust and mutual assistance.
The Chairman of the CNR emphasized that the Chinese-Egyptian relations have become a model of friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between developing countries, as well as a standard for collective cooperation between China and Arab states and between China and Africa. Thanks to this, the parties are steadfastly advancing towards building a Chinese-Egyptian community with a shared future in a new era.
As Xi Jinping noted, as two ancient civilizations and important representatives of the Global South, China and Egypt must draw wisdom and strength from history, strive to fulfill historical tasks related to ensuring peace, development, cooperation, and defending justice, in order to give a powerful impulse to the cause of building a community with a shared future for mankind.
Si Zingpin stated that he attaches great importance to the development of Chinese-Egyptian relations and is ready to work together with President A. F.Al-Sisi to use the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations as a new starting point, to develop traditional friendship, strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various spheres, as well as to promote the development of bilateral relations, characterized by clearer strategic guidance, closer synergy, and broader international influence, in order to bring more benefits to the peoples of the two countries and make a more substantial contribution to the cause of peace and development in the region and beyond.
