Comprehensive scientific and educational cooperation from the school bench to any age was discussed by representatives of the GUU and China.

On May 29, a delegation from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Russian Federation arrived at the State University of Management, consisting of Counselor-Charge d’Affaires Cao Shiyai, First Secretary Zhao Dan, and Second Secretary Liu Czi.

Vice-Rector of GUU Dmitry Bryukhanov told the guests about the rich historical past of the university and the international programs already being implemented with universities in China.

“In our educational institution, managers have been trained for various sectors of the national economy of both Russia and other countries for more than 145 years. For example, we have concluded cooperation agreements with 6 higher educational institutions in China in a wide range of directions, from joint educational programs to participation in summer schools. We will be glad to further expand cooperation, plans are already in place,” said the vice-rector of GUE.

The head of the delegation Cao Shikai acknowledged that it is an honor for us to visit GULC – the most prestigious management university in Russia, and reminded that the years 2026-2027 have been declared the cross years of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of education, which is an additional incentive to show the best results.

“You can tell us in which areas partnership is possible and whether you have any preferences for specific universities in China. We will help establish connections and build relationships. This will be beneficial for everyone,” proposed Cao Shikai.

Head of the International Cooperation Department Inessa Bogatyreva and Head of the International Projects Implementation Department Konstantin Vinogradov presented to guests the projects of holding a summer language school for students from China at the GUE base and the opening of a special permanent unit for the study of Chinese language and culture.

Advisor-envoy Cao Shikai supported the proposals, emphasizing that “language exchanges are an important part of cooperation, and language is an indispensable tool of communication.” In particular, he suggested finding partners in China and helping with the equipment of offices.

Deputy Secretary Liu Zi also agreed that “for successful learning, it is important to form attachment that will help students understand not only each other, but also the cultures of different countries, and as a result become a reliable bridge between peoples.” The creation of language and culture centers will contribute to achieving this goal.

Head of the Scientific Research Coordination Department of GUU Maksim Pletnev told guests about the scientific project being implemented in the field of logistics, transport systems, digital platform solutions with the integration of artificial intelligence, and the development of professional competencies for new economic realities.

Representatives of the Chinese delegation expressed deep interest in joint scientific research and gladly went to the GSI laboratories to see everything with their own eyes.

In the SCHPU laboratory, the center director Vladimir Filatov familiarized himself with projects that could be most interesting for collaboration: work on digitizing documents and developing drawings, creating a unified management system for an agricultural enterprise, and a project using AI and big data models in the process of designing machine parts.

In the laboratory of digital innovations for industry, the head of the SCHPU laboratory Dmitry Nikitin and Maksim Pletnev presented developments in the field of unmanned systems that can be used for the protection of strategic facilities, fire detection and extinguishing, and monitoring of industrial facilities.

As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working in the chosen directions and to participate in the educational exhibition in China, which will take place in the autumn of 2026.
