Beijing, May 29 /Xin Hua/ — Chinese authorities have disclosed guidance on the formation of a metrological system and artificial intelligence /AI/ and the enhancement of corresponding potential in this area with the aim of systematizing the development of the country’s capabilities in the field of metrology in relation to artificial intelligence.
The document was published by the State Market Regulation Department and the State Committee for Development and Reform of the PRC.
Its proposal marked a serious step by China on the path of transitioning from expanding computing power and scaling AI to improving the quality and strengthening the fundamental basis of its development, explained the aforementioned departments.
This is significant for promoting the deeper integration of II technologies with the real sector of the economy and accelerating the development of new quality productive forces, as specified in the agencies.
The guidance proposes vectors for development regarding six main aspects: fundamental support, common technologies, basic technologies, metrological standards, the metrological services industry, and the intellectual expansion of metrology capabilities.
Let us remind you that the main provisions of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, published in March 2026, provide for a comprehensive implementation of the “AI Plus” initiative.
