Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, during a working trip to the Donetsk People’s Republic, visited the Cathedral Mosque and the Holy Iversky Women’s Monastery, toured the multifunctional center in Donetsk, inspected the results of repair and restoration works at Gymnasium No. 1 and the construction profile college in Mariupol, and also held a meeting on the issues of socio-economic development of the republic.
In the regional capital, Donetsk, on the holiday of Kurban Bayram, the restoration of the Cathedral Mosque, located in a previously frontline area, was inspected together with the head of the DPR Denis Vladimirovich Pushilin. Dismantling works are being completed at the site, and the project concept is almost ready. The contractor said they would try to preserve intact decorative elements inside. There are residential houses near the mosque that were damaged as a result of hostilities.”An instruction was given to work out the issue of conducting repairs in the park, as well as to organize the improvement of the square nearby, thus comprehensively putting everything in order,” said the vice-premier.
In addition, Marat Khusnullin noted that the restoration of the Holy Iversky Women’s Monastery is proceeding according to plan in two stages.
“First, the builders will work on the entrance hall, then, at the request of the abbess, they will move on to the main one. This will allow the services not to be interrupted, which have not stopped even for one day,” clarified the Deputy Prime Minister.
The Vice Prime Minister also visited one of the multifunctional centers.
“There are about 60 multifunctional centers (MFCs) in the region. It’s good that such centers have appeared, it’s convenient for residents to process documents on the principle of a ‘single window.’ It is seen that they are in demand, many people. The regional leadership paid attention to the fact that the operation of these centers needs to be refined so that there are no queues and waiting times. I chatted with a local resident there. Oksana Pavlovna came to the MFC with her husband to register their residence. She asked what questions and wishes there were. She received a response that there were no complaints: pensions are received without delays, products are available in the store.”This is our main task – to work on the social and economic development of the reunited regions, so that residents feel the result in their everyday lives,” added Marat Khusnullin.
In addition, he held a meeting on the socio-economic development of the Donetsk People’s Republic, at which he assessed the progress of development programs.
“I want to note that this year the financing of programs, the total volume of contracts is better than last year, including for road construction and repair. Therefore, we discussed the possibility of allocating additional funds for the renewal of roads within key settlements. We also separately reviewed the major home repair program, which includes about 280 multi-apartment buildings, and the utility infrastructure modernization program. Using all sources, including budget loans, it is planned this year in the DNR to replace more than 650 km of networks and carry out repairs on over 200 facilities,” said the vice-premier.
Separately, Marat Khusnullin focused on the topic of water supply in the Donetsk People’s Republic and the development of public transport.
“Thanks to the activities carried out for the construction of new water supply systems under the control of the Territorial Development Fund, for the reconstruction of existing ones, and for combating losses in the networks, we hope to provide the population with water this year. The task for transport remains the same – to launch as many comfortable buses as possible at certain intervals of movement along the DP route network. I understand that this is not a quick process, but over the past two years, certain improvements have occurred in the republic,” he noted.
The Deputy Prime Minister also stated that an important decision was made at the meeting regarding the restoration with federal funds by the forces of the “Single Customer” of the most severely damaged residential buildings and social and cultural facilities in Donetsk.
In Mariupol, Marat Khusnullin took over two educational facilities.
“In the city, along with the restoration of residential areas, social infrastructure is also being developed inside them. Gymnasium No. 1 in the Ordzhonikidzevsky district, after the work complex was carried out in it, is ready to accommodate up to 1,000 students. Denis Vladimirovich pointed out one moment: together with the school renovation, it is necessary to include in the plan the road leading to it. Children’s safety is an important criterion. The Mariupol Construction Vocational College was updated and equipped without stopping the educational process; it remains to complete the landscaping.”About 500 students here receive specialties related to construction and maintenance of buildings and structures, construction technology, architecture, and applied geodesy, which are in demand in the labor market. “We are waiting for the country’s builders!” summarized the Deputy Prime Minister.
