Windhoek, May 28 /Xinhua/ — A delegation of the All-China Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) visited Namibia from May 26 to 28. During this trip, the parties discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and practical cooperation.
A delegation led by the deputy chairman of the 14th convocation NPCSC, Zhu Yunsin, held meetings with the Vice President of Namibia, Lucie Witbooi, the Speaker of the National Assembly / lower house of parliament / Saroj Kugongelwa-Amadhila, and the Chairman of the National Council / upper house of parliament / Lucas Sinimbo Muoi.
Zhou Yunsin indicated that China and Namibia share a deep traditional friendship, remaining as strong as a rock, regardless of changes in the international situation.
Recalling that 2026 became the first year of implementation of China’s 15th five-year plan, the Vice Chairman of the NPCSC stated that China is ready, together with Namibia, guided by important agreements between the heads of the two states and the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, to develop traditional friendship, strengthen the alignment of development strategies, deepen practical cooperation, and elevate China-Namibia relations to a comprehensive strategic cooperation and partnership at a new height.
Zhu Yunsin also reported on China’s intention, together with Namibia, to make efforts to build an all-weather China-Africa community of shared future for a new era.
Members of the Namibian leadership on their part expressed gratitude to China for its many years of valuable support to the country. They assured that Namibia will strictly and firmly adhere to the One-China principle, maintain close contacts with the Chinese side at a high level, expand exchanges and cooperation in various fields, continuously enriching Namibia-China relations with comprehensive strategic cooperation and partnership with new content.
