New York, May 27 /Xin Hua/ — The Chinese side is ready to jointly with the American side put into practice important agreements reached by the heads of the two states, and take concrete actions for the prompt implementation of relations of constructive strategic stability. This was stated on Wednesday by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PRC, Wang Yi.
Van Yi, who is also a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, made a corresponding statement during a conversation with representatives of the US strategic and business circles on the sidelines of a high-level meeting of the UN Security Council in New York under his chairmanship.
According to the head of the MID KN, Chinese-American relations are taken within bilateral frameworks, influence peace worldwide, and concern the fate of humanity. Ensuring the healthy, stable, and sustainable development of Chinese-American relations is a common aspiration of the international community, as well as a mission that China and the USA must undertake, emphasized Van I.
The diplomat recalled that the leaders of China and the United States held a historic meeting in Beijing, after which the parties agreed to define a new positioning of bilateral relations as “Chinese-American relations of constructive strategic stability” and to jointly seek the right path for the coexistence of great powers in a new era.
For improving Sino-American relations, it is necessary that both sides move towards each other, effectively control disagreements, extend the list of cooperation, and reduce the list of problems between the two sides, indicated the head of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Van I stated that “Taiwan’s independence” is absolutely incompatible with the world and the stability of the Taiwan Strait. As he emphasized, by adhering only to the principle of one China and the three joint Sino-American communiques, peace in the Taiwan Strait can be ensured and conflicts and confrontations avoided.
