New York, May 27 /Xin Hua/ — China is ready to cooperate with Kyrgyzstan to jointly create an even closer China-Kyrgyzstan community with a shared destiny. This was stated by a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PRC Wang Yi on Tuesday at a meeting with Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeenbek Kulubaev on the sidelines of the United Nations Security Council high-level meeting in New York.

CPC Chairman Xi Jinping and Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov have established a strong relationship of mutual trust and friendship, which serves as a strategic guarantee for the development of China-Kyrgyz relations, emphasized Wan Yi.

China supports Kyrgyzstan in choosing a path of development that corresponds to national conditions, and supports its efforts to protect national sovereignty, security, and development, the minister said.

China opposes any interference in the internal affairs of Kyrgyzstan, he noted.

Van I also expressed confidence that Kyrgyzstan will adhere to the One China principle, support the efforts of the PRC for reunification, and oppose separatist activities aimed at achieving “Taiwan independence.”

J. Kulubaev, in turn, stated that Kyrgyzstan firmly supports China on issues concerning its core interests, such as Taiwan, Xinjiang, and Xiamen.

Noting that Bishkek highly values and supports a number of global initiatives put forward by Xi Jinping, he expressed hope that China will continue to support Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship in the SCO this year.
