First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government Denis Manturov paid a working visit to the United Arab Emirates, where he was received by the country’s President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The parties discussed current issues of Russian-Emirati multifaceted cooperation, which is dynamically developing. In December of this year, the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries will be celebrated.

“Trade and economic ties are successfully expanding. The turnover between our countries grew 1.5 times last year and reached a historic maximum of 14 billion dollars. We expect the entry into force by the end of this year of the Economic Partnership Agreement between the EAEU and the United Arab Emirates, which will contribute to improving the quality of trade and achieving its greater balance,” remarked Denis Manturov.

This will become an important addition to the Russia-Emirates agreements on free trade in services and on the elimination of double taxation, signed last year. Laws “On the Ratification of the Agreement on Economic Partnership between the EAEU and OAE, as well as the Russia-Emirates Intergovernmental Agreement on Trade in Services and Investment,” were signed by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

A positive dynamic of cooperation has been noted in the industrial, agricultural, and energy sectors, in the field of high technology, as well as in the humanitarian sphere.

The First Deputy Prime Minister congratulated the head of the OAE and the friendly Emirati people on the upcoming Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha, known in Russia as Kurban Bayram.
