Deputy Prime Minister Vitaliy Saveliev took part in the launching ceremony of the first electric ship of the project “Moskva 1.0”, built at the Moscow shipyard. The event was also attended by Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin and Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that river transport has special significance for Russia. “Alongside other types of transport, river transportation is an important part of the unified transport framework of the country. By the order of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, a systematic modernization of inland waterways is being carried out,” Vitaly Saveliev remarked.

In Moscow, regular electric river transport has been developing since 2023. Currently, the capital’s electric fleet consists of 31 vessels that successfully operate on three city routes. Last year, the Moscow Shipyard was opened and the construction of 8 electric vessels “Moscow 1.0” began.

“Moscow not only effectively operates these vessels, but also begins to produce them. This is no longer just an urban transport project, but groundwork for the development of domestic electric shipbuilding and the replication of such solutions,” emphasized Vitaliy Savelyev.
