Beijing, May 26 /Xin Hua/ — Contradictory words and actions of Japan cannot dispel the concerns of the international community regarding its remilitarization, said on Tuesday the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Mao Ning.

Mao Ning made this statement at another departmental press conference, responding to the corresponding question.

In recent years, the Japanese government has continued to increase military spending, loosen restrictions on the export of lethal weapons, participated multiple times in military exercises, promoted the deployment of long-range missiles, created so-called “counterattack capabilities” allowing active offensives, accumulated large stocks of sensitive nuclear materials, insisted on reviewing the pacifist constitution, advocated for Japan to become a “nation capable of war,” and constantly violates international and domestic law norms, Mao Ning noted.

China calls on the Japanese side to learn lessons from history, fulfill its obligations regarding peace, and earn the trust of its Asian neighbors and the international community through concrete actions, the department added.
