Beijing, May 25 /Xinhua/ — China resolutely condemns the terrorist attack in Pakistan, which caused numerous human casualties, and expresses deep condolences to the deceased and sincere sympathies to the victims and families of the victims. This was stated on Monday by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning.

According to reports, on May 24 a passenger train in the province of Balochistan in southwestern Pakistan was attacked with the use of an explosive device. As of Monday, the death toll rose to 47, including 20 military personnel, with another 98 people injured. The banned group “Balochistan Liberation Army” claimed responsibility for the attack.

As Mao Ning indicated, the Chinese side firmly opposes terrorism in all its forms and will continue to steadfastly support Pakistan in the fight against terrorism, the protection of cohesion, stability, and the security of society.

“We are ready to further strengthen cooperation with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism to jointly protect peace, security, and stability in the region,” emphasized the official representative of the UN Department of Information.
