The pop-symphony orchestra Politecnica Ingenium gave a major concert dedicated to the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

“Despite the young age of the musicians, the PolitE orchestra is 119 years old,A — addressed the audience from the stageArtistic director and principal conductor of the orchestra, Honored Artist of Russia Dmitry Misyura. —It was founded in 1907, but soon ceased its activities for various reasons. And 100 years later, in 2013, on the initiative of the university rector Andrey Rudskoy, the Polytechnic student orchestra was revived. Before you is the orchestra of future engineers, where students of different specialties engage in music as a hobby.

The May concert “Songs Born of Victory” was conceived as a tribute to the great feat of our people. The participants of the concert were the orchestra soloist Alexey Osipov, the vocalist of the “Polivox” vocal studio Vladislava Ryan, and the quartet “Ne Spat”. As a special guest, singer Natalya Misyur took the stage. One of the most recognizable war songs “Dark Night” was performed, the musical symbol of mourning “The Cranes,” and the song reminding us of the importance of peace “The Stork on the Roof,” as well as an exquisite waltz by Shostakovich from the film “The First Echelon” and the spirited “Rio-Rita.”

The culmination of the concert was the performance of the song “Victory Day” — a musical symbol of May 9. The concert participants performed it together with the audience.

Specially for this performance in the White HallSecond conductor of the orchestra, graduate of IMMIT Pavel Zhukovwrote a fantasy for the orchestra “Echoes of War.” Many years ago, when joining a group as a bass guitarist, Pavel did not have musical education and almost did not know musical notation. He enrolled in a music school for adults in the double bass class, successfully completed it, and now he is not only the second conductor but also a composer.

“This is not my first experience of composing music, but it has never reached the stage, whereas my arrangements of various compositions have reached that stage,“— shared Pavel Zhukov. —When the theme of the future program was announced, I remembered that I have an unfinished opus which I wrote under the impression of yet another round of studying the details of the Great Patriotic War. “Echoes of War” was conceived as a pictorial music conveying the feelings of a person confronted with war. I would say that each person “reads” this music in their own way.

The creation of a musical piece is similar to the process of inventing an engineering invention, as believed at the Polytechnic. This requires creative thinking, the development of which is actively pursued at the university.

Science and music unite creative thinking and the desire to create something new. The fidelity of this direction in educational and nurturing activities of Politechnika is proven by the premiere of a musical composition created by a graduate of IMMIT, and the presence of a large number of student creative groups at the university: orchestras, theaters, choirs, — the head of the Directorate of Cultural Programs and Youth Creativity Boris Kondin is convinced.
