Jerusalem, May 23 /Xinua/ — The Israel Defense Forces /IDF/ reported on Saturday that it struck military targets of the movement “Hezbollah” in two regions of Lebanon during the night.
The statement says that the target of one of the strikes was an underground complex of a group in the Beqaa Valley in eastern Lebanon. It is claimed that weapons were being produced there, which were then used against Israeli soldiers and civilians.
It is also reported that TSAHAL struck infrastructure of “Hezbollah” in the city of Tyre in southwestern Lebanon, where militants allegedly planned and carried out attacks on Israeli soldiers.
The army stated that before launching the strike, it took steps to minimize harm to the civilian population, including issuing warnings, using precision-guided munitions, and conducting aerial surveillance.
The 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon came into effect at midnight on April 17.
Despite the ceasefire, Israel struck Lebanon, while the Hezbollah movement shelled the northern part of Israel and its military positions in southern Lebanon.
