Xiziyuan, May 23 /Xin Hua/ — Two Pakistani astronauts are undergoing training for spaceflight alongside Chinese astronauts at the China Center for Scientific Research and Astronaut Training. All relevant work is proceeding smoothly, the manned spaceflight program administration of CNSA/CMSA announced on Saturday.

According to the plan, one of these two Pakistani astronauts will participate in the space mission as a specialist in payload. They are currently undergoing basic training and aerospace technical training according to the relevant program, said CMSA official representative Zhang Zhinbo at a press conference in Jiuquan in northwest China.

Zhan Tsinbo said that the training is focused on teaching practical skills so that Pakistani cosmonauts are fully qualified to carry out the assigned mission.

At the initial stage of preparation, intensive training in the Chinese language will be conducted to strengthen proficiency in Chinese, including basic knowledge of the Chinese language and the corresponding command vocabulary necessary to complete the mission.

In April, CMSA announced that two Pakistani cosmonauts, Muhammad Zishan Ali and Khurram Daud, were selected as the first foreign cosmonauts to participate in the Chinese crewed space mission.
