The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States session in Turkmenistan.

Statement by Mikhail Mishustin at the meeting:

Dear Serdar Gurbangulyyevich, thank you for the warm reception of our Russian delegation here, at the Commonwealth of Independent States Council of Heads of Government.

I want, taking advantage of the opportunity, to send you a big greeting from the President of Russia, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

Indeed, we have a broad agenda that we will be dealing with today both in a narrow and in an expanded format.

The hotel would also like to thank you for the effective cooperation that our countries maintain.

The intergovernmental commission, headed on our side by Vice Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, is actively engaged in many areas. In particular, these are industry, energy, logistics. A promising direction is the “North-South” corridor, the opening of new markets for our countries in India, China, the Asia-Pacific region, Africa, and the Persian Gulf region.

I hope that our visit will become yet another impetus for the development of relations between Russia and Turkmenistan. Not only trade-economic ones, but also, of course, cultural ones, which connect our friendly peoples.
