Minsk, May 22 /Xin Hua/ — Representatives of more than ten countries took part in the 20th Gomel Economic Forum, which was held in the Belarusian regional center of Gomel from May 21 to 22. The corresponding information was published by the publication “Belarus Today” on Friday.

Forum participants got acquainted with the economic potential of the region. On the first day, issues of agro-industrial complex development, technology, and science were discussed. On the second day of the event, the chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee, Ivan Krupko, held a meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions of foreign states.

I. Krupko noted that the forum has become a platform for the formation of a new culture of international interaction, focused on honest, equal relations and long-term partnership.

“Over 20 years of the forum, 125 documents have been signed for a total amount of more than 2.7 billion US dollars. Projects have been implemented in industry, processing, medicine, and the service sector,” reported I. Krupko and added that the Gomel region of Belarus is open for cooperation based on trust and respect.

Moreover, he noted that the relations between Belarus and the CNT serve as a model of mutual trust and effective cooperation. “Our relations are actively developing at the regional level. Delegations from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region have become regular participants in events in the Gomel region, strengthening business and humanitarian contacts,” summarized I. Krupko. –0–
