Ljubljana, May 22 /SINA/ — The National Assembly /the lower chamber of the parliament/ of Slovenia on Friday approved Janez Janša for the post of the country’s prime minister. 51 deputies voted for his candidacy, 36 against. This was reported by the Slovenian Press Agency /STA/.
Before the start of the parliamentary vote, J. Janša, the leader of the Slovenian Democratic Party, stated that the priorities of the new coalition government will be accelerating development and increasing the welfare of Slovenia, combating corruption and organized crime, decentralizing the country, and reducing bureaucracy.
Now Y. Yanshi has 15 days to present the list of ministers to the parliament for approval.
J. Janša previously held the position of Prime Minister of Slovenia from 2004 to 2008, from 2012 to 2013, and from 2020 to 2022. –0–
