Moscow, May 22 /Xin Hua/ — The visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to China and his talks with Chairman of the PRC Xi Jinping will give new impetus to the development of Russian-Chinese relations. This was stated today in an interview by the governor of the Jewish Autonomous Region /EAO/ of Russia, Maria Kostyuk.
“From experience, we already see that every meeting between Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping is always associated with some new breakthrough decisions in the interaction of our countries, always associated with new humanitarian missions that contribute to the development of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China,” said M. Kostyuk.
The meeting of the leaders of the two countries will be very significant for development, for strengthening friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation and communication between the two countries and peoples, she added.
According to the governor of the Jewish Autonomous Region, after the commissioning of the cross-border bridge between Russia and China, Nizhneileninskoye–Tunzjan, logistics changed significantly. The situation on both sides of the border changed.
“The field for investment projects has changed, the field for the formation of the economic component of the two countries has changed, because, firstly, we were able to transport necessary goods by containers at any time of the year. Secondly, the investment attractiveness of the border territory has increased,” he explained. “Today there are many willing investors; they come with very serious proposals, where both Russian and Chinese investors combine their efforts and present one project or another.”
M. Kostyuk looks to the future with optimism, and this optimism is connected, in particular, with new plans for the gasification of the regions. “Taking into account that today a gas pipeline is being built, and gas will pass through the Jewish Autonomous Region, we already have several projects on the horizon with partners from the People’s Republic of China,” emphasized the governor of the JAR.
