At the Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University of Peter the Great, another collection of humanitarian aid was held as part of the All-Russian campaign #WeAreTogether. From March to May, students, teachers, staff, and volunteers of the university collected 1982 kg of essential household items, food, hygiene products, medicines, clothing, equipment, and utensils for those in need of support. The organizers also thank the students of Lyceum No. 95 of the Kalininsky District of Saint Petersburg, who wrote letters to the Victory fighters.
Assistance will be transferred to the representative of the communications unit “Bars” and to other units through the Association of SVO veterans. Part of the humanitarian collection will be sent to servicemen carrying out tasks related to the defense and protection of infrastructure facilities in Saint Petersburg.
Volunteers from the “Harmony” Center of St. Petersburg State University participated in the 25th Anniversary Spring Week of Kindness. Together with the charitable foundation “Regiment of Loyalty,” they engaged in weaving camouflage nets, conducted a master class on making “talisman of kindness” — soft knitted octopuses, which were then sent to the hospital for wounded soldiers. The funds raised from the master class with a graduate of the Polytechnic Institute, member of the Union of Artists of Russia Alexander Dudorov, were transferred to the charitable foundation AdVita (“Ray of Life”), as well as to help children, residents of the Kursk and Belgorod regions, and defenders of the Fatherland.
Trips to the field hospital occupy a special place in the work of the university headquarters #TOGETHER. On Maslenitsa days and on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, volunteers handed over treats from the hotel and restaurant “Sputnik” to the fighters, as well as commemorative T-shirts and chocolate. The festive atmosphere was supported by the agitbrigade of the art group “Nevsky Constellation”.
A separate bright page was the meeting with designer Elena Cherneva and her collection of folk costume “White Berezonka.” Models from the “Defile” studio of the children’s and youth center “Krasnogvardeyets” and students of the Polytechnic visited the hospital departments to acquaint the fighters with the beauty of Russian cultural tradition.
On the eve of Easter, volunteers visited hospital wards, delivered first aid kits to the wounded, and organized a performance by the family folk club “Uklad” with the program “Easter Festivities.”
Students-volunteers also organized several concerts at the hospital, featuring vocalists from the “Polivoks” studio and the Russian beatboxing champion.Ekaterina Pautova. After the concert of the folk pop Cossack song ensemble “Yes, the Cossacks” under the direction of Alexander Bukreev, a tea party was organized, a treat for which was bought by concerned politicians.
For recovering patients of the subordinate hospital, excursions were organized around the main building of Politeh. And in the White Hall for fighters and medical staff, “Rhapsody of Love” was performed by the Ansemble of violinists “Rhapsody”.
Permanent partners and participants of hospital meetings: the head of the Veterans’ Organizations Alliance “For Our Own” Valentin Botsvin and the deputy director of the “Sputnik” hotel Svetlana Bakaldina. Thanks to joint efforts, such visits become not only concerts or delivery of humanitarian aid, but true meetings of support, where the unity of the rear and the front is especially felt.
The #WEARETOGETHER Headquarters in Politeka continues to work and opens a new collection of humanitarian aid. Among the current needs are: clothing, hygiene products, tools and materials, equipment and components, medical supplies, food products, and stationery.
