Beijing, May 21 /Xinhua/ — China and the United States must create favorable conditions for bilateral trade in agricultural products and facilitate the restoration and continuous expansion of cooperation in the trade of such products, said the official representative of the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC, He Yadun, on Thursday.
He made this statement at another press conference in response to a question from the media about China’s purchase of American agricultural products.
Trade in agricultural products is an important component of China-US trade and economic cooperation, reminded He Yadun.
According to the results of recent trade and economic consultations, China and the United States have reached a positive consensus on the elimination of non-tariff barriers and ensuring market access for some agricultural products of both parties, noted a representative of the Ministry of Commerce.
