Beijing, May 18 /Xin Hua/ — China is ready together with Georgia to continuously enrich the content of China-Georgia strategic partnership relations. This was stated on Monday by the chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress /NPC/ Zhao Leji.
Zhao Lezi made a corresponding statement during the negotiations in Beijing with the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili.
The Chairman of the PK VSNP noted that under the strategic leadership of the leaders of the two countries, China and Georgia have established a strategic partnership relationship, and in recent years bilateral ties have developed into a fast track for high-quality, comprehensive development.
According to him, China intends to realize an important consensus together with Georgia, reached by the leaders of the two countries, to inherit and develop traditional friendship, strengthen cooperation and exchanges, and continuously enrich the content of bilateral strategic partnership relations.
As Chzao Letsi indicated, China will continue, as before, to support Georgia in following its own path of development, independently chosen by its people and corresponding to its national conditions, and to oppose interference by external forces in the country’s internal affairs. The Chairman of the CPC Central Committee declared that China is ready to expand cooperation with Georgia in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, digital economy, and green energy, as well as to encourage stronger Chinese enterprises to make investments and open businesses in Georgia.
The parties must deepen cultural and humanitarian exchanges, expand multilateral cooperation, and closely coordinate their activities within the framework of multilateral structures such as the UN, added Zhao Leci.
He noted that the VSNF is ready to deepen exchanges and cooperation with the Parliament of Georgia, create a favorable legal environment for bilateral practical cooperation, and provide even greater support for the development and uplift of each of the countries.
Sh. Papuashvili, in turn, stated that the Georgian side firmly adheres to the principle of one China, is ready to contribute to the continuous development of strategic partnership between the two countries, as well as jointly defend international law and international order.
He emphasized that the Georgian side intends to actively participate in the joint construction of the “Belt and Road.”
Regarding cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries, Sh. Papuashvili stated that the Parliament of Georgia is ready to deepen friendly exchanges with the NPC, strengthen the social foundation of friendship between the two countries, and as a legislative body, contribute to the development of Georgian-Chinese relations.
On the same day, the chairman of the All-China Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Wang Huning, held a meeting with Sh. Papuashvili.
According to the chairman of the VK NPKSK, China intends to jointly implement with Georgia important agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries, decisively support each other on issues affecting the core interests of the parties, deepen and expand cooperation in traditional and new areas, strengthen cultural and humanitarian exchanges, enhance communication and coordination on multilateral platforms.
Van Khunin added that VKS NPC is ready to make its active contribution to this.
Sh. Papuashvili, for his part, stated that Georgia firmly adheres to the one-China principle and is ready to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, consolidate friendship between various social circles of the two countries, elevate Georgian-Chinese relations of strategic partnership to a new level, jointly uphold international law, and contribute to peace and development throughout the world.
