Since May 1, in Hangzhou, a team of 15 intelligent robots has officially started working to manage road traffic. According to reports, these robots are placed at key city intersections and cover such important points as the picturesque area of West Lake, the Hubin commercial district, main city highways, and other busy sections.

Depending on the characteristics of each intersection and its functional needs, robots will perform the following tasks: helping tourists with orientation, conducting explanatory work with drivers of non-motorized vehicles and pedestrians in case of rule violations, as well as regulating road traffic.

The creation of a full-fledged squad of robot traffic controllers, working in close interaction with the road police, marks a new stage in the development of intelligent urban traffic management in Hangzhou.
