Abuja, May 17 /Sina/ — At least 17 policemen were killed earlier this month as a result of an attack by suspected terrorists on a military training center in Yobe state in northeastern Nigeria. This was reported on Saturday by the country’s official police representative, Anthony Placid.

The statement says that on May 8, the attackers launched a coordinated attack on a Nigerian army special forces school in Buni Yadi in the area of the local government of Gujba in Yobe state.

According to E. Placid, the attackers were police officers who underwent special operational training at the facility. He added that as a result of the incident, several members of the Nigerian army also died.
