Seoul, May 17 /Xinhua/ — The women’s football team from DPRK arrived on Sunday at Incheon International Airport, located to the west of the South Korean capital Seoul, for the semifinal of the AFC Women’s Champions League. Athletes from DPRK are competing in the Republic of Korea /ROK/ for the first time in almost eight years.
The women’s football team “Neksan” from the DPR will meet with the South Korean “Suwon” on May 20 at 19:00 local time at the stadium in the city of Suwon.
For the last time, athletes from the DPR participated in competitions in the Russian Federation in December 2018. In the grand final of the World Tour of the International Table Tennis Federation in Incheon, a ping-pong player from the DPR, Cha He Sim, competed together with the South Korean Chan Woo Jin in the mixed doubles event.
Founded in Penang in 2012, the club “Nexian” became the champion of the first division of the KHL in the 2021/22 season. -0-
