Geneva, May 17 /Xin Hua/ — The World Health Organization (WHO) on Sunday determined that the Ebola virus outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Uganda constitutes an “emergency situation in the field of public health, having international significance.”

However, the WHO stated on the social network X that the outbreak caused by the Bundibugyo virus does not meet the criteria for a public health emergency of international concern.
