Jerusalem, May 16 /Sina/ — The Israel Defense Forces /IDF/ reported on Friday that more than 220 Hezbollah militants were killed in the past week in southern Lebanon.
In its statement, the IDF reported that over the past week, it struck more than 440 “Hezbollah” targets in southern Lebanon. Among the targets were weapons depots, which included mortars and anti-tank missiles, as well as a drone base.
In a separate statement by CAHAL, it is said that on Friday “Hezbollah” fired upon Israeli forces in southern Lebanon and northern Israel, but no casualties were reported.
The current round of hostilities began on March 2, when “Hezbollah” fired rockets at Israel against the background of tensions caused by the war between the USA and Israel on one side and Iran on the other. Israel responded with massive airstrikes and a ground invasion of Lebanon. –0–
