Alexander Novak held a meeting of the Government Commission on issues of electric power development
Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak held a meeting of the government commission dedicated to the development of the electric power industry. The event was attended by representatives of federal and regional authorities, as well as industry companies.
Within the framework of the meeting, special attention was paid to the construction and modernization of energy infrastructure in the Far East and the Moscow region.
It is noted that ensuring the growing demand for electricity and capacity in the Far East by 2031 is planned through a set of measures, including improving the reliability and extending the service life of existing generating equipment at the Yakutsk GRES, Yakutsk New GRES, Vostochnaya TPP, and Artyomovskaya TPP, as well as creating new generating capacities totaling 48 MW, an electric energy storage system with a capacity of up to 250 MW, and a 500 kV power transmission line Khabarovsk – Komsomolsk with the reconstruction of the 500 kV Komsomolsk substation.
Among the significant areas of work, the construction of TEC-25 and TEC-26 in Moscow is noted. The implementation of these projects is of important significance for the further development of the energy sector of the capital region, increasing the reliability of heat supply and meeting the growing needs of the metropolis.
Participants of the meeting discussed the parameters for creating electricity storage systems in the south of Russia. This direction of work will increase the stability of the power system, provide more efficient load management, and create conditions for the further development of the power grid infrastructure.
Measures to introduce a ban on mining activities in the territory of the city of Moscow, the Moscow region, and in a number of districts of the Kursk region were considered in order to ensure and maintain the stability of power supply to all categories of consumers, especially socially significant ones, as well as the balanced functioning of the electric grid complex.
Alexander Novak instructed the sectoral organizations to pay special attention to issues of safety and reliability of power facilities. He emphasized that this issue is of primary importance for ensuring a stable energy supply for the entire country and is under special government control.
